Increasing Your Country Club's Membership

If you are one of the board members for your area country club, and you have noticed your membership is not as high as it has been in past years, you may want to undertake some new strategies in getting people's interest piqued in your club and what it offers. Country clubs are a wonderful way to be part of a group of other members that have the same visions for fun and events, but if the motivation is lacking within the club, people will stop renewing membership over time. Here are some ways you can boost your club's benefits in an attempt to gain additional members.

Brainstorm With Others

One of the best ways to try to increase membership is to come up with ideas as a group. One person within the board may have a wonderful idea that has not yet been implemented to try to get the word out about the country club. Hold a meeting to come up with strategies that will entice new people to want to become members.

Hire Some Help

Enlisting the help of a consultant in private clubs strategic planning can be a fantastic way to help your current board members see where there are problems in your recruitment efforts. A professional consultant will do an assessment of the demographics in your area to determine which age group and income brackets are most prominent to help you determine where to find members to recruit. A club planning consultant will look through financial records to see if there is a need for additional fundraising or if there is a surplus that can be used to better the overall appearance of the club or increase the activities it offers.

Hold Public Events

If people are unaware that the country club exists or that it has special events they would be interested in, they will not be inclined to sign up. Make it a point to often advertise specials around town so people may come to take a look at the establishment. If the country club includes a restaurant or bar that is open to the public, holding special theme nights can bring in new patrons who may be interested in the country club lifestyle once they see the interior of the main buildings. And hosting community events each month to draw attention to the country club could gain you new members after they are able to walk through the grounds and meet others who are members themselves.

About Me

My Functional Yet Space-Saving Home Office Furniture

Setting up a home office in my spare room enabled me to work from home. The problem was finding a way to maximize the space I had. I need to choose office furniture that would be functional yet space-saving. I chose a corner work station that included a combination computer desk with attached hutch. This gave me the ability to do computer work and store necessary supplies, without taking up a lot of room. A metal filing cabinet on wheels allows me the portability to store the cabinet in my walk-in closet when not in use. I purchased all my office furniture used, saving me money as well as storage space. Even in the smallest of rooms, working at home can be comfortable and affordable, if you're a savvy shopper.
